Let the Construction Begin! Breaking Ground on the Children’s Pavilion

Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU broke ground September 10 on the new Children’s Pavilion, which will be completed in 2015. Over 200 people attended the event to celebrate the new facility, but if you weren’t there, be sure to check out this video: “I have often said that I have the very best job at VCU. In addition to breaking ground on the new Children’s Pavilion, a multi-story outpatient facility featuring pediatric-dedicated imaging, surgical and endoscopy procedure rooms, pediatric faculty offices and a 7-story parking garage, we have added several talented pediatric specialists to enhance access to care for community pediatricians, their patients and families. Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is pleased to welcome five new physicians to the team! Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU Building New Children’s Pavilion

Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University on Monday began construction of a new Children’s Pavilion that will be the largest and most advanced outpatient facility dedicated to children in the region. The $168 million, 640,000-square-foot facility will house 72 exam rooms; a surgical area with two operating rooms and two procedure rooms; areas for diagnostic testing, imaging; and laboratory services. Construction also will include an attached parking garage with more than 600 spaces.
